Sonoco Plastics was founded in 1949 as Technical Bureau Rijke, a factory for special purpose equipment and precision tools. Since 1993 is Sonoco Plastics B.V. a part of the Sonoco Moulded Plastics Division: a group of plastic processing companies with subsidiaries in the USA, Europe and Asia. The parent organization Sonoco is a $4.1 billion global manufacturer of industrial and consumer products and provider of packaging services, with more than 300 operations in 35 countries, serving customers in some 85 nations.
