Sonoco Plastics Europe has a long history of plastics processing and toolmaking.
1986 was the first acquisition of a Plastics business in Europe through Sonoco. This plant located in Germany started as “KaRo Werke” in 1957 and is specialized in moldmaking and manufacturing of carriers for the textile industry.
In 1993 Sonoco bought the in 1949 founded Dutch facility “Crellin” former “Technical Bureau Rijke” a company for special purpose equipment and precision tools. In the meantime the plant is located in Berkel en Rodenrijs. 1998 the “Kunststoffwerk Ing. Klaus Burk KG” was added to the Sonoco Plastics group as the 3rd Plastics Processing plant in Europe. This company is specialized in injection molding, extrusion and toolmaking. In 1995 we joined the 2 German companies into 1 and leveraged some functions i.e. molddesign and toolroom.
